UPPER SAUCON TWP., Pa. –

It’s a new way to enhance your dining experience.

A new computer touch screen at one Lehigh County restaurant has a lot of people wishing it was in every eating establishment.

It’s a little box that will change your dining experience.

“It’s called the Ziosk,” said Joe Favorito, manager. “We call it a table management system.”

The new touch screen system is on every table at the Red Robin at the Promenade Shops of Saucon Valley in Upper Saucon Township, Lehigh County.

You can watch movie trailers, play games, get food and pay right at the table.

“The guest are loving it, just swipe your credit card,” said Favorito. “What a lot of people don’t realize is the restaurant business is the only place where you actually give your credit card to someone and they walk away. So now the guest has full control over their credit card over a secure network.”

“I think it’s cool,” said Terry Messick, a customer from Emmaus. “I mean it does a lot and it’s just easy to use.”

“There’s a lot of different things you can do on it,” said Charissa Wimmer, also from Emmaus. “You can order the appetizers, which we almost did but changed our mind. She ordered dessert.”

Some would think by having one of these units at your table you would see your server less, but customers say that’s not the case.

“She was great, she came back every time,” said Wimmer. “Also she had paid with her card and I saw that you can do the tip with the percentage which is pretty neat because I’m a server and that is pretty great. People probably tip better according to that.”

“That was one fear that they had and right away,” said Favorito. “I say the first day we had it they realized this is a great tool to help me do my job.

Right now the system is on a three month trial period and if the feedback remains positive.
