A Red Robin Gourmet Burgers restaurant is likely to open before October near Cabela’s in Tilden Township, an official of the restaurant chain said Tuesday.

“It’s an aggressive timeline but I believe we can do it,” Mike Axiotis said.

“And it will create 50 full-time and 100 part-time jobs,” added Axiotis, vice president of operations for Lehigh Valley Restaurant Group of Allentown.

Developer Joe DePascale of J.G. Petrucci Co. Inc., Asbury, N.J., said the restaurant northeast of Cabela Drive and Mountain Road will seat about 210 people and have 122 parking spaces.

Axiotis said his franchise group opened a Red Robin in Exeter Township in 2009, and will open its 18th site in the region Monday in Lancaster County.

The Tilden Township Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend that the township supervisors approve final land development plans for the project when they meet Saturday.

“Then we can have groundbreaking in April or May and open before the hunting season, which brings a lot of customers to Cabela’s,” Axiotis said.

Planning Commission Chairman Dale Keener said, “We initially had concerns about the appearance of the building, but the company recently approved revised architectural renderings.”
